RIYADH, 15 January 2004 — Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov arrived in Jeddah yesterday on a four-day official visit to the Kingdom, according to Russian diplomats here. President Kadyrov, who will also visit Riyadh, is scheduled to hold talks with many senior Saudi officials during his trip, including Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard.
RIYADH, 11 January 2004 — A Saudi woman doctor has been named a visiting professor at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in the United States. Dr. Selwa A.F. Al-Hazzaa, head of the ophthalmology department at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, will become the first Middle Easterner to travel to the US several times in an academic year to deliver lectures.

RIYADH, 27 November 2003 — Security forces have launched a manhunt for militants who escaped the police dragnet following a shootout on Tuesday at a terrorist hideout in the capital during which two suspects died. RIYADH, 14 October 2003 — As part of a drive to curb money laundering, security officials recently arrested seven expatriates including two unauthorized agents for illegally remitting money worldwide. The expatriates were caught with large amounts of money in different currencies and denominations, sources told Arab News.
