The Indian International School in Riyadh hosted its annual Culture and Sports Day featuring the I to V Girls Section recently. The girls participated in drills, track races, musical events and cultural presentations.
On hand for the event was Asiya Hamid Rao, wife of the Indian ambassador to Saudi Arabia. “The efforts of the students were on ample display and they impressed everyone with their ability and sporting skills…and I was equally delighted also” Asiya said.
Asiya delivered a speech in which she outlined the importance of sports and games in a child’s life, calling them character building tools that invigorate the bodies and the minds of children.
She commended the victorious students and prize winners on their achievements and exhorted them to bring further laurels to the school and to their parents through their efforts.
