Bahrain Air’s on-board raffle initiative, where passengers can win free tickets to different destinations on the network, is causing a “sensation in the skies,” said Syed Taqiuddin Ahmed, general manager for the Riyadh-based Safari Travel Group, which holds the GSA for Bahrain Air. The promotion, which will end on Dec. 31, gives customers the opportunity to win tickets on every flight, said Taqiuddin. He said “passengers transiting via Bahrain would have the opportunity twice and round trip passengers via Bahrain will have four chances to win tickets.”
The proposal to transform the GCC into a union of Gulf states, which will herald a new era of Gulf cooperation amid changing regional alliances, figured prominently in the final communiqué issued by GCC heads of state.
“The plan in the first phase aims to set up a comprehensive public transport system in these cities that is more reliable and efficient,” said Minister of Transport Jabara Al-Seraisry, who was chairing a session of the Riyadh Economic Forum (REF) on Sunday.
“Iran is escalating tension in the region and the world at large,” said Prince Saud Al-Faisal, minister of foreign affairs, in a speech read out by Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer, deputy minister for multilateral relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The two-day conference, the first of its kind to be hosted by the Institute of Diplomatic Studies (IDS) in Riyadh, will be rich in political and security content with focus on the role of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the changing regional and international landscape.
