RIYADH, 9 July 2007 — As part of its intensified effort to protect the environment, the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has called on government agencies and private organizations to phase out harmful substances including chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs) that deplete the ozone layer.
