Martin Mechamali holds two Saudi cobras during a recent snake show in Riyadh.

RIYADH – Enter Martin Mechamali with poisonous snakes crawling all over him. He intends to show how life is with so many snakes slithering around him on Jan. 5 at Al-Hokair Park in Thumamah in Riyadh. Twenty-five snakes and an equal number of scorpions will take center stage with him. Mechamali claimed in an interview with Arab News that “people will hold their breath as they watch me performing in the company of Saudi cobras, Egyptian cobras, desert snakes and vipers who will be raising their hoods, hissing on me and even biting me.” In the show, Mechamali, who has been hired by Al-Hokair Group, will also speak on how to treat patients suffering from snakebites. Mechamali said: “I aim to enlist my name in the Guinness Book of World Records next year for which I am planning to stage a few rare snake shows. I am preparing myself to stage a show in which I will be spending 99 days in the company of hundreds of poisonous snakes and scorpions.” The show will be organized either in Saudi Arabia or Europe.
