World’s Largest Foaming Plant Installed In Riyadh

RIYADH: A multimillion dollar new foaming plant, the largest of its kind in the world, has been set up by the Coldstores Group of Saudi Arabia (CGS), a leading company in transport and warehouse refrigeration industry.

The new plant is equipped with the latest German technology to ensure production of excellent quality products including the best insulated panels and high-quality multipurpose shelters.

“The launch of this new plant is CGS’s next step to increase productivity and to maintain its position as a market leader,” said Esmat Al-Saady, chairman of CGS board of directors, while speaking on the occasion of the unveiling of the plant.

CGS, in fact, formed alliances with the most reputed European companies namely Krauss Maffei to design this largest panel manufacturing machine in the world, he added. The inaugural ceremony was attended by top industry executives.

Asked about the features of the new plant, Al-Saadi said that “the new technology, in place, would lead to the production of first-rate and clean quality panels with high mechanical properties and state-of-the-art insulation efficiency.”

Moreover, the produced panels will be aesthetically excellent and completely free of air traps, he added.

He said that there would be notable increase in productivity due to the semi-automated mechanical system of the plant and the characteristics of the new foam. This complex project, Al-Saadi said, was the sum of many different solutions that were brought forth following a number of brain-storming sessions between experts from CGS and Krauss Maffei during the last two years.

The CGS, founded in 1976, is licensed in the Kingdom to manufacture reefer truck bodies, shelters, insulated panels, industrial refrigeration systems, transport refrigeration units, cabin and bus air-conditioning, ambulances, tuck cranes, tail gates and sandwich panels for cold stores.

At present, CGS has three modern factories in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. It has its direct or indirect presence in several other countries of the Middle East and Europe.
