International Indian School-Dammam (IISD), in which girls have performed well in both science and commerce streams, has reported a total pass percentage of 99.1.
International Indian School-Jeddah (IISJ) has a pass percentage of about 95 percent and International Indian School-Riyadh (IISR) 94.2 percent.
IISJ reported that of 404 students who sat the exam, 333 passed in first division, 51 in second division and one student in pass division. One other student could not qualify the exam and 18 students were placed in compartment. A total of 751 ‘A’ grades were obtained by its students in different subjects. Among the girls, Subia Rashid Uz Zaman topped in the school with a 94.4 percent score, followed by Monisa Nadeem 92.2 percent and Sumaiya Zubair Surati 90.4 percent. Among the boys, Fardeen Ahmed Khan topped by scoring 91.4 percent, followed by Mohammed Alim and Khalid Jamal Shahid Khan 90 and 89.6 percent respectively.
“This year’s result is perhaps the best in the history of IISJ,” said Salah Karadan, chairman of the IISJ Managing Committee. “This is because of the combined efforts of the dedicated teachers, hard working students, excellent parental interest and an over-all support from the principal, vice principal and committee members. We held study camps to prepare the students that helped many of them to perform well,” he said in his congratulatory message.
At IISD, girls have performed well in both science and commerce streams. The total pass percentage is 99.1 percent. The school reports that this year’s result has improved very much in quality.
The number of students scoring above 90 percent are 25 while those who scored between 80-89 percent are 103, between 70 and 79 percent are 123 and between 60 and 69 percent are 105 and below 60 percent are 68. Of 428 students who sat the exam, 419 passed and four students failed while five were absent.
Twenty-one students are placed in compartment in one subject. IISD is continuing its tradition of best academic performance during this year also. Overall school toppers in the science stream are Zaina Hamid and S. Sumitha, both scoring 94.6 percent. Second in science stream is Russell Mariano S. Colaco with 94.4 percent and third is Chithra Satheedevi 94 percent. In Commerce the topper is Pretty Elizabeth Varghese with 93.8 percent, with Zenobia Faisal with 93.4 percent second and Neha C. Kolsur with 91.6 percent.
According to IISD’s Chairman John Thomas and Principal E.K. Mohammed Shaffe, the performance in English is better than the previous years. Twenty-five students scored 95 percent in English. Three students scored 95 percent in economics, two students scored 96 percent in math, one student scored 95 percent in physics, one student got 97 percent in chemistry, one student scored 89 percent in physical education, and one student scored 96 percent in business studies, one student scored 88 percent in psychology, two students 98 percent in biology, one student 97 percent in accountancy, one student 96 percent in biotechnology, two students 97 percent in home science, one student 95 percent in IP and four students 99 percent in computer science.
IISR’s Jubal Jacob Kurudamannil topped by securing 94.2 percent. Jubal also has the distinction of occupying third position among all the Indian students in Saudi Arabia, said IISR Principal Manzar Jamal Siddiqui. Siddiqui said that the pass percentage of IISR students increased by two percent this year compared to a year before with 462 students declared “pass” out of 489 students.
Hence, the total pass percentage exceeds 94.4 percent this year, he added. A total of 360 IISR students have bagged first class with distinctions, while 52 students have passed with second class and six with third class.
In the science stream Sameera stood close to Jubal by scoring 94 percent followed by Syed Raziuddin 93.6 percent. In commerce, Milna Hyder Ali scored 93.4 percent followed by Amreen 91.2 percent and Summaiya 89.2 percent. In humanities stream, Shaikh Ayesah topped the list by scoring 86.4 percent followed by Samar Hafizunnisa 86.2 percent and Ranaa Mohideen 83.2 percent. A total of 44 IISR students are placed in compartment. The girls have done far better with seven of them occupying the slots among the nine toppers, three each in science, commerce and humanities categories.
On the other hand, the Riyadh-based Delhi Public School has done well with 100 percent pass percentage and all in first division with 72 percent in aggregate. Amiya Chakraborty, a student of science stream, scored 93.4 percent. Amiya scored highest marks in math, physics and chemistry, while Shahroze Mirza scored 95 marks in accounts and Swaleh Madani 86 in English.
At International Indian Public School, Riyadh (IIPS), which also scored 100 percent pass, the best three achievers are: Sajin Sunny Mathew (92 percent), Rakesh Retnakaran (91 percent), and Saba Fathima (90 percent). “A total of 33 IIPS students appeared in Grade 12 exam and all of them secured above 60 percent,” said a school official.
