RIYADH: ThyssenKrupp Saudi Arabia Contracting Ltd. ranks today as one of the best global companies offering a range of industrial solutions, products and world-class technology.

Dreiling, who gave an overview of ThyssenKrupp’s local and international operations with special reference to the huge range of company’s industrial solutions, said that “ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, the plant engineering and construction specialist of the ThyssenKrupp Group, can look back on more than 50 years of successful business activities in Saudi Arabia.”
“As part of its growth strategy and to further strengthen its regional footprint, the company is currently investing in its operations in the Kingdom,” said the CEO, adding that the company has opened a new office in September this year in Riyadh.
The company now operates from this famous location in Riyadh, a city which now serves as a regional technology and competence hub for the company’s plant engineering activities in Saudi Arabia.
Referring to the company’s commitment to offer world-class services, Dreiling pointed out that “these investments showcase both our commitment to the region and our determination to further expand our businesses into strategic growth markets.”
The construction industry in Saudi Arabia has received a tremendous boost over the last few years.
“We are seizing this opportunity by expanding our regional presence and moving closer to our customers,” he noted.
Underlining its commitment to Saudi Arabia, ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions is also promoting the employment of the country’s large youth population by investing in the education of young engineers.
“They are trained in Germany and later transferred back to the company’s regional units in Saudi Arabia,” said Dreiling.
Having started with the construction of cement plants in the 1960s, the company nowadays offers a wide range of services in Saudi Arabia — from engineering to turnkey solutions for the chemical (fertilizer, refineries, oil and gas, downstream), cement, mining and materials handling industries as well as cutting-edge technologies for clients from the automotive manufacturing and naval shipbuilding sectors, he explained.
Recently completed and ongoing major projects of ThyssenKrupp include the design and procurement of a turnkey ammonia plant with a capacity of 3,300 tons of ammonia per day for the client Maaden in Raz Al-Khair and the construction of a cement production plant with a capacity of 5,300 tons of cement clinker per day for the client Al Sawfa Cement in Jabel Farasan in Saudi Arabia.
Referring to the innovative technology for which ThyssenKrupp is well know all over the world, Dreiling said that ThyssenKrupp presented ACCEL, a game-changing, efficient transit solution for cities and airports at inter airport Europe 2015 in Munich from October 6-9.
“It is unique; passengers enter walking at a regular speed and get accelerated at high-speeds to the other end,” he said.
Applying linear motor technology from the Transrapid magnetic train, the ACCEL transportation system can cut current transit times between airport gates by a remarkable two-thirds.
With this new solution, ThyssenKrupp marks its entrance into the mass transit sector.
The unique transportation system offers high capacities and high speeds for short distances, with no waiting times for passengers and low implementation costs.
Referring to the corporate social responsibility, he pointed out that the company is involved in several initiatives for the betterment of mankind.
To this end, he noted that additional appprenticeship and jobs for refugees.
Over the next two years, the group will create around 150 apprenticeships, some 230 internships and further positions for skilled workers and graduates at various German subsidiaries, said a report published recently.
“Our employees are providing direct assistance to refugees at many ThyssenKrupp locations,” said the report, which quoted Oliver Burkhard, Chief Human Resources Officer of ThyssenKrupp AG.
In North Rhine-Westphalia alone, ThyssenKrupp employs people from 114 nations.
The additional internships, apprenticeships and positions for skilled workers and graduates will be created at ThyssenKrupp locations throughout Germany over the next two years.
Especially for young refugees, training is key to finding work and integrating into society.
ThyssenKrupp has a tradition of showing solidarity in this regard.
For decades the Group has been offering apprentice training beyond its own needs in structurally weaker regions and has extensive experience of integrating young people who are not yet ready for an apprenticeship.
For example, integration courses aimed at getting youngsters fit for apprentice training have been on offer for around 15 years.
Local personnel departments can integrate young refugees coming to Germany into this scheme.
The group companies at which additional jobs can be created will be contacting institutions, cities and municipalities in the coming weeks with a view to identifying applicants.
